lyrics

There he was in an alley
With no money to his name just a can full of shame
He met people crossing by
Of riches and of fame
They told him it was a, "Shame to Stay the Same"
After all he was just a boy
Trapped in a box and dreaming for the stars, although
They would never call his name.

But his friends lay hidden deep within the forest.
Where nothing could survive, where Fruitcut would reside.
And his friends lay hidden deep cut in his brain.
Where monsters would reside, and logic set aside.

He grew so tall and real real fast
Moved up the social latter
Bought some respect from local merchants
Now the people chant his name
It filled old Fruitcut's gentle ego
Now at last he thought he could see
Sooner or later his friends showed up
And told him how to be and how to lead.

But they float around his head and chant my name.
Knowing he'll resign, he would want to stay alive.
Poor old Fruitcut knew nothing more than just to please.
Brought the people to his knees, and showed them how to be.

Oh Fruitcut Jones
He was just a boy.
We always played pretend
I thought I was his friend.
Oh, Fruitcut Jones
Here we are again
Caught in the big black sea
Nothing but you and me.
